Introduction

The Pohlad Family owns many private companies (see list below) that, together, employ more than 2,100 employees. Business offices are located in 19 states, but most have headquarters offices in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan Area of Minnesota.

All Pohlad businesses are encouraged to be active participants in their communities. Where and how businesses provide support as well as the amount provided varies, but the goal—to have a positive impact on recipients of support—is consistent.

New Orleans Volunteer Projects

In 2006, the Pohlad Family of Companies sent teams of employee volunteers to assist Catholic Charities of New Orleans in Hurricane Katrina clean-up and recovery efforts. The trips occurred June 2-5, 2006 and November 3-6, 2006, and a total of 121 volunteers participated.

Each trip sent four teams (14-16 people each) to assist low-income families whose homes were destroyed. Volunteers removed all debris (appliances, furniture, clothes) in each house, and then gutted them down to the studs.

A trip focused on rebuilding efforts is planned for May 18-21, 2007.
