| Summer Youth Employment Program: Newspaper Industry
An internship at a community newspaper can be a summer of learning for you, and it can help you when you consider future career choices. Students might work in any aspect of the newspaper (news, sales, photography, graphic artist, website development, etc). There are many types of work at a newspaper.
Visit your local community newspaper and ask about an internship opportunity. If the paper does not have an internship available, ask for information about neighboring community newspapers that you can contact. Bring this information with you when you visit the paper to show that you have checked into the program and are serious about an internship.
If you have questions, contact Yvonne Klinnert at yvonneklinnert@hotmail.com or call 952-807-3723.
